CNU
Hockey – Join the Tradition
CNU Hockey
players are proud to be a part of a growing tradition of excellence, performing on
the ice as well as in the classroom. Our players come from high school,
travel, and junior teams from Virginia to Canada. Practices are intense
and include lots of conditioning and game-situation play. Players also
have access to and are also expected to utilize the state of the art
facilities at the Freeman
Center (pictured right) on campus for off-ice conditioning.
Academically, our players must meet
ACHA standards of eligibility, which means they must take at least 9
credits per semester (6 for grad students) and keep a 2.0 GPA. Just like
the varsity teams at CNU, we require all freshmen to attend 4.5 hours of
study hall per week in their first semester to ensure that they spend
enough time on their studies. School comes first, then hockey.
By joining CNU
Hockey, our players get more than just the ability to continue playing
the sport they love. Team members form strong bonds and participate in
many team functions off the ice, from weekly team dinners to fundraising
car washes to getting just together to watch some hockey. Being a part of
CNU Hockey gives our players the opportunity to represent the University
on the ice and be a member of one of the most respected clubs on campus.
Throughout the season we will hold
Recruit Weekends, where we will invite potential players to tour our
campus, stay a night in our dorms, meet our coaches, and come out and
skate with the team. Please fill out a recruiting form if you would like
to schedule an official recruiting visit.
