Retreats
Encounter with Christ (EWC)
This retreat is sponsored by the Office of Campus and Young Adult Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. It is held three times during each academic year. It takes place Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon at one of two sites.
One of them is on the James River the other site is in the Blue Ridge Mountains. College students from accross the diocese gather for a time of fellowship, prayer, study, and reflection. The retreats are teamed by students and campus ministers.

Viaticus
Christopher Newport's CCM student led weekend retreat for freshmen. It is held on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (Kill Devil Hills, actually) within earshot of crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The retreat seeks to ease matriculation by introducing students to college life. Topics for the retreat include but are not limited to
dreams, fears, expectations, choices and challenges, as well as faith on campus. The weekend includes time for reflection, journaling, and discussion. There is also plenty of time to enjoy sand, sun, and surf.

This is to help welcome freshman into the CCM community and life at CNU. During the fall semester small groups of freshman are paired with returning CCMers for eight weekly gatherings focusing on fellowship, fun, service, faith sharing.

Twilight Retreats
These retreats provide opportunities to learn about Catholicism in many different ways. They are usually held three times each semester. Most of the time they take place on Friday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 10 p.m. Topics explore, history of the Catholic Church, tradition, theology, and practice of our faith. Students from area colleges and universities are invited to join us.Speakers include professors from local colleges, catechists from area parishes, and leaders from our local community.
