"So I went out back one Saturday to check the drainage culvert behind the back fence, to see if I needed to clear any leaves or debris. I opened the gate, and there at my feet was a stick that had fallen form a tree; the stick was sturdy and about eighteen inches long, smoothed out, and had a curve to it. I picked it up, and then looked at the culvert it was filled with leaf litter and dirt. Then it struck me this stick was the perfect thing for clearing the ditch. It was easy to handle, fit well in my hand, and the curve was perfectly matched to the shape of the culvert. Obviously, I was meant to clean that ditch right then and there! And then it REALLY struck me this was a simple, practical example of how God works. There was a job that needed to be done, and here was the tool I needed to do it, right then and there. What a metaphor! God has given me many "tools" (as he has YOU), and we just need to look up and see what job we are to do with that tool. Discover the "tools" God has given you, and do the work with those tools that must be
done."

We are grateful for Dr. Grau and the gifts he shares with our CCM community.
