A new
year is starting and
together we're encouraging one another to be on fire
for Christ! Why do we get mad at the dark for being
dark? Instead of getting mad, we should be going out
and sharing our light to illuminate the darkness.
What good is our faith if we keep it to ourselves?
Faith without deeds is dead.

In life, 4 things are eternal:

We use the first 3 things to influence the 4th.
BCM isn’t a normal club or organization.
It’s a family of love and accountability.
We’re here to do 3 things:
1. love God
2. support each other (BCM)
3. impact the community
How do we achieve that?
1. Bible Study
2. fellowship
3. outreach
What does that look like for someone in
BCM?
Through Wednesday night worship/Bible study
and church on Sundays, we allow ourselves to
grow closer to Christ. Our Monday lunches,
fishbowl fellowship, and fundraising
endeavors gives us the opportunity to grow
closer to one another. The mission projects
we do around the area, like volunteer at the
Boys and Girls Club, and outreach on campus
helps us to impact the world around us.

Background |

"Because Christ Matters" is the CNU
division of
the state-wide organization Baptist
Collegiate Ministries. Baptist Collegiate
Ministries is supported through the Virginia
Baptist Mission Board. BCM's were started at
schools across the state to encourage
collegiate fellowship, service, and
discipleship among Christians. Although
we're sponsored by the Virginia Baptist
Mission Board, the CNU BCM is open to all
Christians. We are here to serve all CNU
students regardless of their faith. |
