The CNU Anime Club offers a variety of events including anime convention trips, movie marathons, and weekly series viewings. Our hope is that through attendance at these events, club members gain an appreciation for and understanding of Japanese animation and culture. The following are events that our club regularly either hosts or attends.
Nekocon is an anime convention where fans from all over the country can gather for three days of relentless excitement. Anime cons give fans an opportunity to not only have a blast hanging out for three days, but also enable them to shop for exclusive merchandise, meet studio executives, learn breaking news, take part in skits, cosplay (attend in costume as an anime character), and of course watch anime! The best part about NekoCon is that it's held just down the road in Hampton! You can find information about Nekocon 11 at their site The CNU Anime Club attends NekoCon each year and will pre-register as a group in order to receive reduced rates. Group rates for NekoCon 11 are $30 per person. Katsucon 15February ??-??, 2009Date and location notconfirmed at this time.We will post as soon as it is known.Katsucon is yet another anime convention taking place during the spring semester, with more of the same sort of fun available at Nekocon. Anime MarathonsAnderson AuditoriumTBASeveral times each year we offer 12-hour marathons of anime films and episodes.
